Last week I began offering advocacy tips to my readers to insure their loved ones get the care they desire in an nursing home. Last week’s tip was to note any weight lose over a short period of time. This is a sure fire signal that your loved one is being neglected.
This week’s tip in to notice your loved one’s appearance. Does s/he look clean and well care for?
The Nursing Home Resident’s Bill of Rights, states that each resident should be clean and well groomed, hair clean and combed, skin and nails cared for, and clothes clean.
If your loved one does not look clean, find out why. The staff should not be neglecting a resident.
Next week I will offer another Advocacy tip for good nursing home care.
