On the afternoon of December 7, 2018, the appointment ceremony of the Teaching Steering Committee of the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Mechanical Fundamentals (Southwest Jiaotong University) and the 2018 Experimental Teaching Steering Committee meeting were held in Room X5222, Xipu Campus. The following experts attended this meeting, Zhou Zhongrong, Vice President of Southwest Jiaotong University; Zhong Chong, Director of Assets and Laboratory Management Department; Dong Dawei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering; Zeng Donghong, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering; Professor Gu Daqiang, Deputy Director of the Experimental Teaching Steering Committee of Zhejiang University; Dr. Li Xinglin, Deputy Director of the Machinery Industry Bearing Product Quality Inspection Center (Hangzhou); Wang Ronghua, senior engineer of the Sichuan Construction Mechanization Engineering Company; Wang Peijun, professor of the Southwest Jiaotong University School of Mechanical Engineering. All full-time professions and staff representatives also attended the meeting.
Before the meeting, accompanied by director Wang Peijun, the experts of the Steering Committee visited the laboratories of the mechanical foundation experiment center, got a detailed understanding of the basic situation of the laboratory on site, and put forward guidance on the laboratory construction, experimental project setting, experimental equipment, etc. This meeting was presided by Zeng Donghong, who first also introduced the experts. Vice President Zhou Zhongrong, on behalf of the university, welcomed the experts, introduced the situation of the experimental center, read out the list of experts of the Teaching Steering Committee, and issued the letter of appointment to the members of the Teaching Steering Committee. Professor Wang Peijun reported the construction of the experimental center with focuses on the general situation of the center, teaching system construction, and team construction.
The meeting approved the constitution of the Teaching Steering Committee of the national experimental teaching demonstration center (Southwest Jiaotong University). Experts of the Teaching Steering Committee have conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the construction and development of the experimental center, and put forward valuable suggestions from the platform development of the experimental center, the construction of teaching staff, the construction of experimental courses, and the teaching reform. Professor Gu Daqiang and Dr. Li Xinglin, had special reports on the construction of the experimental center of the school of mechanical engineering.
The meeting provided guidance for the high-level sustainable development of the national experimental teaching demonstration center, which will promote the experimental center to further carry out the reforming of experimental teaching and cultivating high-quality talents.
