On the afternoon of April 26, 2019, the general secretary of the party committee of the school held a symposium for young teachers in the mechanical hall of Jiuli campus. The general secretary of the school Dong Dawei, Dean Qian Linmao, Deputy general secretary Cheng Jun and Meng Fanchun, Deputy Dean Yuan Yanping, Deputy Dean Zeng Donghong, Deputy Dean Ding Guofu and Deputy Dean Tian Huaiwen attended the meeting. Director of general affairs office Sha Xiaoxue, director of teacher service office Jiang Qunhua, and all young teachers under the age of 35 attended the symposium. The meeting was presided over by Cheng Jun.
Dean Qian first introduced the development history, current situation and future goals of the school, and introduced the overall arrangement of the centenary of the school. At the same time, he introduced in detail the relevant policies and reform measures in supporting the development of young teachers. It is hoped that young teachers can make full use of the relevant favorable conditions, actively integrate into the development of the school, and combine their personal development goals with the future development of the school to create a better future.
Each attendant had a speech about his own actual situation and suggestions on the difficulties. Considering the issues raised by young teachers and the confusion they are facing, the leaders at the meeting gave sincere responses from their point, and put forward future measures on how to support the growth of young teachers.
Prof. Dong made a concluding speech. He emphasized that young teachers are the mainstay of the school and the hope of the future. He hoped that young teachers could integrate into the school as soon as possible, change their roles, care and support the development of the school, grow up as soon as possible, and contribute to the rapid development of the school. At the same time, he hoped that young teachers would actively participate in the centennial activities and contribute to the development of the school.
The Vice secretary Cheng Jun pointed out that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of China, the 123rd anniversary of the founding of Southwest Jiaotong University and the 100th anniversary of the founding of our mechanical engineering. In the past 100 years, through the efforts of generation after generation, the school has been growing and has made considerable development and progress. It is hoped that young teachers will inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of the University, study hard, work hard, climb up the peak bravely, make new contributions to the construction and development of the school, and compose a splendid new chapter of the school!
