Invited by researcher Wang Wenjian from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, Dr. Erinco Meli from the University of Florence, Italy gave an online lecture on "evelopment of wear and RCF models for railway applications" at 20:00 on July 15, 2021. Dr. Erinco Meli gave a detailed explanation on the latest research results of the wheel/rail wear and RCF modeling and prediction. And he also discussed the influences of hardness and temperature on the wear and RCF. The attendees had a lively discussion on the content of the lecture.
After the discussion of the academic lecture, researcher Wang Wenjian and Dr. Erinco Meli discussed in depth the next cooperation plan for the study on the RCF prediction, which promote the cooperation on the wheel/rail service study between Southwest Jiaotong University and University of Florence.
