At 19:30 on October 18, 2021, the lecture on improving students' English ability was successfully held in classroom x2224, sponsored by the English learning center of Southwest Jiaotong University and undertaken by the school of mechanical engineering. Deng Li, a teacher from the school of foreign languages of Southwest Jiaotong University, shared with the students the answer skills of English reading comprehension, so as to help the students of the school of mechanical engineering improve their English level and broaden their international vision.
First, Mr. Yi Hong, vice president of the school of foreign languages of Southwest Jiaotong University, introduced the background and relevant requirements of this lecture on improving English entrance ability. He said that the English learning center can help students achieve their learning goals. Students can use the school's English learning center to improve their English ability, so as to pass CET-4 and CET-6 Satisfactory results were obtained in the postgraduate entrance examination.
Then, in a round of applause, Mr. Deng Li began to share the dry goods of the English postgraduate entrance examination. Deng Li shared the skills of English reading comprehension in three parts: example problem method, theme problem method and misunderstanding of memorizing words. Mr. Deng Li pointed out that through the example structure, we can quickly know the general content of the article, so as to save a lot of answer time. When we encounter unknown words, we can make questions by judging their praise and criticism. Then, Mr. Deng stressed that most of the interference items are familiar, but they are changed in subtle places, so as to achieve the purpose of mixing fish's eyes with pearls. Therefore, when we do questions, we should have golden eyes and carefully distinguish the differences between the options and the original text. Finally, Mr. Deng Li shared with the students the practice of the main topic. It is proposed that we should mainly do the problem through the exclusion method, and the interference item will generally expand or narrow the scope, which requires us to find and compare the options with the scope words in the original text. "If you want to do a good job, you must first sharpen your tools." without a solid foundation of words, no matter how many skills are, they are just castles in the air. Finally, Mr. Deng stressed that the most simple and basic way to learn English is to recite words in a down-to-earth manner. We should consolidate our word foundation step by step.
