November 12, the “China-Austria Art Week” organized by our University and Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Art, Culture Department was opened. Ms Olga of Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Art, Culture Department, the President of Our University Professor Chen Chunyang, Various representatives of art institution and school in Chengdu attend the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Ms Olga said: “it is my first time to visit Chengdu. I heard about Chengdu inclusive well, and Southwest Jiaotong University emphasis on cooperation, especially in Art. In addition to the Art Week cooperation, in the long run, there will be two artists to visit and exchange Southwest Jiaotong University every year.”
Since 2000, due to the “Artist Exchange Project” of our University and Austrian Federal Ministry of Education Art and Culture, there have more than 30 local artists and more than 20 Austrian artists involved.
