On March 30, 2019, the theme release seminar of the 9th National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Competition and Huiyu Innovation Teaching Exchange Meeting were held at Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology. Professor Tian Huaiwen and his group members attended this seminar. Prof. Tian also reported the efforts by our school on the preparations for competition.
The National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Competition is held every two years and is one of the most influential college student competition projects in China. The theme of the Ninth National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Competition (2020) is "Smart Home, Happy Family", with the content of "design and manufacture of mechanical deVices for helping the elderly to live alone, and mechanical deVices of modern smart home. Entries are evaluated by comprehensive evaluation, which mainly includes four aspects: topic selection evaluation, design evaluation, production evaluation and on-site evaluation.
At this seminar, the Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of the National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Contest, Professor Wang Jing from Xi'an Jiaotong University made an in-depth and authoritative analysis of the theme of the contest. Eight experts and scholars from the University of Electronic Science and Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology and Beijing Institute of Technology made special reports on innovative teaching.
As the host university of the 9th National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Competition, Prof. Tian had a report on the preparation of the competition on behalf of the school. Professor Tian introduced the long history and development of the school. Our school is famous for rail transportation, and has built a large number of scientific and technological innovation platforms such as the National Rail Transit Laboratory and the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power; The school guides and encourages students to participate in various discipline innovation competitions, and also has the experience of hosting and organizing national and provincial competitions.
Prof. Tian reviewed the seminar of the Ninth National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Contest held in our school. Prof. Tian sent a sincere invitation to nearly 600 participants from the 330 colleges and universities attending the meeting. He will actively work hard to assist the competition with high-quality services and various facilities.
